Presentation

From Brazil to Vietnam, this workshop will discuss how different forms of legal activism, indigenous and anti-colonial struggles, and aesthetic practices have attempted to document and denounce the entanglement of environmental and political violence at different scales.

The aim of the seminar is to provide students with a robust grounding in both the theory and method that has been developed within the context of the Centre for Research Architecture and Forensic Architecture. While these sessions are introductory in nature, we will have the opportunity to discuss a wide variety of current academic research, artistic practice, and political action that addresses the environment. Students will be familiarized with the methodologies employed by Forensic Architecture, examine key critical texts, and learn practical methods of spatial research that can be easily used in the future research projects that the students may undertake.
